Embodiment Coaching rejects the fatphobic, ageist, ableist, gendered, racist dogma that there is one ‘perfect’ body and the presumption that appearance has a direct relationship to health and wellbeing. This work emerged as an alternative to the white supremacist, capitalistic assumption that our bodies are deeply flawed and in need of improvement. Unlike other fitness or wellness techniques that sell services to ‘fix’ our exteriors to look more like the, ever-elusive, ideal body my coaching sessions hone the ability to listen to your physical impulses and needs, to speak more gently to yourself, and to discover the movement practices that best serve you from one day to the next.
